Frequently Asked Questions

Choosing a counselor and starting therapy can be overwhelming.

Below you will find a list of questions that can help guide you through the process or provide answers to questions you may already have.

  • No, I am not seeing clients in person at this time. I use a confidential, HIPAA compliant, telehealth video platform which is accessible through any internet connected device.

  • Yes. My job as a counselor is to make sure we’re a good fit for each other. To do that, I offer free, 15-30 minute phone or video consultations to learn more about what is bringing you to counseling and for you to learn more about how I’d approach those things. If I believe there is another mental health professional who would be a better fit for you I will let you know. If there’s a better approach to counseling, a more specialized professional, or even a higher level of care that would the best fit for you, I will tell you.

  • I see clients Monday through Friday with varying availability. I currently do not offer late evening or weekend appointments.

  • We will meet for 50 minutes for each session. First sessions, typically called Intakes, may last for 60 minutes. There is no additional fee for an intake session.

  • My fee is currently $125 per session. I offer reduced fee spots as well. I cannot guarantee that I will always have a reduced fee spot available. Feel free to ask about reduced fee sessions in our consultation.

  • No, at this time I do not take insurance. I can provide you with documentation that you may submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. However, reimbursement is not guaranteed.

  • While we will discuss this in the first session, I typically see clients weekly or every other week. However, frequency can change based on many things including availability, circumstances, or goals. Frequency of sessions will always be a mutual conversation to ensure that each client feels comfortable with the number of sessions both emotionally and financially.

  • Ideally, clients will come weekly or every other week for around 3 months to be able to establish a relationship and foundation, understand how patterns and history can influence thoughts and feelings, and build coping strategies to deal with what is bringing you to therapy. After that time, we’ll discuss what frequency makes sense to continue meeting. Some clients opt to keep their weekly or bi-weekly appointments, some opt to go monthly. Depending upon the goals set some clients may come for years.

  • I obtained my first state license in Tennessee and have worked as a counselor in Nashville since 2016. I serve Middle Tennessee and have worked with clients throughout both Davidson and Williamson County. I am also licensed in the state of Delaware and serve clients across the entire state.

  • If you are unable to make your appointment, please let me know as soon as possible. I have a 24 hour cancellation policy. If you cancel with more than 24 hours before your appointment time you will not be charged. If you cancel with less than 24 hours until your appointment time you will be charged your full appointment fee.

  • If you can, please let me know if you will be running late to join the appointment. I will hang on in the video platform for as long as I need to. These 50 minutes are yours.
